M&M Entertainment's Spotify 2018 Wrapped

Spotify 2018 Wrapped graphic

It's been one hell of a 2018. I tend to say this every year, but 2018 has been the most exciting year yet, full of new experiences, new friends, new accomplishments, and of course, music. I think that is something we should always strive for, is making sure each year is different than the last and always try to jump out your comfort zone. Always be striving for a goal or accomplishment to push yourself to a higher level of yourself. I'm very thankful for all the blessings in my life that has led me to this point right now.

Music has always been something special to me, having grown up in a very musical upbringing thanks to my parents. One of my proudest accomplishments in 2018 was establishing this website that you're reading right now, and the fact that you're reading this makes my heart so full. I wanted to take some take time to personally thank my supporters of M&M Entertainment for making this year a key chapter in the book.

So, what's M&M Entertainment been up to this year? I've pulled some Spotify data to showcase what M&M Entertainment has been listening to all year!

Looks like we started off the year with indie-pop singer Sylvan Esso, especially hitting play a couple extra times on the track "Coffee."

It's pretty crazy to think we spent over 30,000 minutes (or nearly 21 days) listening to music. But I guess if music is the center of your life, then it makes sense haha. This doesn't even count all the other music streaming minutes M&M Entertainment has gained on Nugs.net, Relisten, LivePhish, Bandcamp and of course all the CDs in the car when we're too lazy to plug in the aux cord.

I'm different, yeah I'm different. I don't even try to be, but I'm just not really impressed with today's mainstream music. Glad to see that M&M Entertainment listens to non-mainstream music 99% more than the average listener! That's why we bring you weekly song picks of the week to diversify your music list of some music you may not have heard before!

Aww I can't believe we spent 26 hours with Australian solo acoustic guitarist Alan Gogoll! He's such a master at what he does, and M&M Entertainment highly recommends his music for any time of the day. We've spent a lot of time listening to him the morning with our cup of tea, or when we're slaving over the computer for hours on end.

Classic rock is the foundation to M&M Entertainment's music collection, so it's only fair that we keep the classic oldies in rotation! You can't beat the classic The Rolling Stones music throughout your day, especially their 1964 track "If You Need Me."

2018 has surely been the best year of our 21 years around the sun. We booked and coordinated five local concerts, made a lot of glass art, traveled to West Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina, Maryland, Illinois and Panama, got back into the playing the flute, hiked the Appalachian Mountains, received a misdemeanor for playing music too loud, became official press for several music festivals and concerts, went skydiving, and of course went to dozens of concerts throughout the United States. We couldn't have done it without music by our side, especially our celebratory song "Horizon" by Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, that gets blasted in the living room at least several times a week. "Once in a Lifetime" by Talking Heads stays our #1 favorite song of all time, while we gained a new love for Modest Mouse through the song "Gravity Rides Everything." Alan Gogall kept us sane throughout the semesters with his calming "Chime" and "Apricot Eyes." Shoutout to Tycho, Rubblebucket and Emancipator for keepin' it real all year long.

Thanks for being a reader of M&M Entertainment! This is just the beginning, so stay tuned for a fully-energized 2019.
